How to make a digital business card with your link-in-bio page

Build a digital business card in Linkrise with a clear introduction, selected work, contact links and a shareable QR code. Check the public page before sharing.

Start with what happens after the introduction

You meet someone at an event, finish a client call or exchange a few messages about your work. Sending five separate links makes that person reconstruct the introduction. A digital business card can give them one place to remember your name, understand what you do and choose a useful next step. Your link-in-bio page can serve that purpose when its first screen is written for the person receiving it, rather than arranged as an archive of everything you have ever published.

Write down the follow-up you want before choosing a layout. An independent designer may want a project enquiry; a speaker may want an organiser to read a talk outline. Those require different supporting links. Begin with one primary action and add only what helps someone decide whether to take it. You do not need to replace a complete website or buy a physical card to create this introduction. A maintained public page and an ordinary shareable address are enough to start.

Make the first screen recognisable

Use the name you introduced yourself with, a recognisable profile image or logo, and a plain description of your work. Include a location or time zone only when it helps the reader arrange the next conversation. Specific wording such as packaging design for independent shops says more than a collection of broad claims. Keep essential details in page text, where they remain readable when an image is cropped or loads slowly. A photograph should support the introduction rather than contain the only copy of your name.

In Linkrise Studio, edit the profile details and choose a profile image layout that suits this information. Classic can keep the introduction compact; Cover gives a relevant image more room. Preview both with your actual name and bio before deciding. Profile layouts, typography and the current visual design controls are available on Free. Choose a readable combination and check the result on a phone. The goal is recognition after a real introduction, so the page should feel consistent with the name and work that person already encountered.

Give the main action a specific destination

Replace a vague Contact me label with the action that actually follows, such as Discuss a packaging project or View speaking topics. Link to a public destination you control or are authorised to use. If the route opens an external enquiry or booking service, that service handles the form, availability and completion. Linking it from Linkrise does not create a native booking system. For a simpler route, Studio also supports email and phone social links; publish only the business contact details you intend visitors to use.

Try the destination as the recipient. Check that a booking page accepts new visitors, an enquiry form does not require your own account, and a portfolio file is shared with the intended audience. Do not label a normal webpage Add me to your contacts unless it actually provides that result. Keep a secondary route when it solves a real access problem, such as an email option beside an external booking link. More contact buttons are useful only when their roles are clear and you can maintain them.

Show enough work to support the next conversation

Select two or three relevant pieces instead of reproducing an entire portfolio. Give each a short explanation of your role and the kind of problem it addresses. An Image or Gallery block can introduce the work; separate Link blocks can take visitors to individual project pages. If a piece is a personal concept, label it that way. Use client names, logos and results only when you have permission and evidence. A concise, honest selection makes it easier to judge fit without asking the reader to inspect every channel.

Keep the image behaviour in mind while arranging the page. A Linkrise Gallery can contain up to twelve images and has one optional destination shared by the gallery; it is not a set of separate project URLs for each photograph. Use individual links when the pieces need different destinations. Put useful captions or explanations in actual text, and avoid tiny screenshots of a price list or contact details. Check the crop on the phone preview before deciding that a layout communicates the work clearly.

Verify the public card, then share the address or QR

Wait for Studio to confirm the save, resolve any upload or conflict message, and make sure the profile is public. Open the actual public URL without the editor session. Confirm the name, introduction, selected work and contact routes against the version you intended to share. A preview of an unsaved edit is not proof that a recipient will see it. This check matters especially when you have just changed a destination or replaced an old document with a new version.

Use the public address in a follow-up message or email signature. For an in-person handoff, Linkrise Share provides a basic branded QR preview and an SVG download. Test the code at its intended printed size with another phone and check the page it opens. Apple's camera guidance explains the scan-and-open step for iPhone and iPad. Include a readable address beside a printed code so a recipient has another route. Keep the profile address stable: changing the username or making the page private can break material already distributed.

Know what a web card does and does not do

A link-in-bio business card is a webpage. Opening it does not automatically save a phone contact. If your primary requirement is a contact file that imports into an address book, verify that separate workflow instead of treating a page link as the same feature. Likewise, a QR code is one way to open an address; it is not proof that someone saved your details, accepted a meeting or completed a purchase. Explain the action accurately when handing the page to someone.

For this setup, Linkrise supplies the public page, its current design controls, links and basic QR sharing. It does not provision an NFC card, and custom domains are not currently offered. You can begin on Free; Pro is relevant when you need benefits such as longer analytics periods, Linkrise branding removal or additional Linkpages. Those are operating choices, not prerequisites for a readable introduction. Check current plan limits before preparing separate pages for different roles or presenting a capability to a client.

Check the handoff on a real phone

Open the page in a regular mobile browser and in the messaging or social app you expect people to use. Check larger text, long link labels, image cropping and the main action without sideways scrolling. Follow the contact route far enough to establish that the correct public destination opens. A phone or email link may hand over to another app, so keep the label understandable before that switch. Test navigation without submitting a real order or paid appointment just to see whether a button works.

Ask whether a person who met you briefly could answer three questions: who is this, is their work relevant, and what should I do next? Remove the block that makes that answer harder. An email signature may need a straightforward introduction rather than the campaign-heavy page used for a social launch. If one shared page still serves both audiences clearly, keep it. A second page should earn the additional maintenance by addressing a different task, not merely a different place you pasted the same link.

Keep the introduction current and read the numbers carefully

Review the page when your role, availability or main project changes. Update the content at the same public address when possible, then repeat the recipient-side check. Remove expired event links and replace documents that no longer describe your offer. Keep a short list of the places you shared the address, including signatures and printed material, so you know what to revisit if the address must change. A simple page becomes dependable through maintenance, not through the number of sections it contains.

Use Linkrise analytics to review page visits, outbound clicks and QR-source visits where attribution is available. Free Basic Analytics covers Today and Last 3 days; Pro supports longer periods. These figures do not identify every person you met or confirm an external enquiry, booking or sale. Check completed follow-ups in the destination service and keep dates comparable. With a small audience, a handful of scans cannot establish a conversion improvement. Start with a reliable introduction, learn where people hesitate and make one useful edit at a time.
